Those of us that are involved in this industry take it VERY seriously. It has been a service that is needed by ALL retail establishments and it always will be. And it has become a service that is now used by MANY ineternet companies as well.
As a matter of fact, Internet Secret Shoppers are now becoming popular.
I personally became a secret shopper out of complete desperation. I was looking for work when I discovered an article on the internet one late night about secret shopping.
As I became more and more involved in the industry, I also discovered that many of the stores that you perform secret shopping in also use retail merchandisers and vice versa! And I ended up with a list of stores that I only performed secret shopping in and stores that I performed only retail merchandising in.
After awhile and as I became more well known in the industry I was able to establish a list of 94 retail establishments that I service on a steady basis. Some of the stores are seasonal projects, but most are year round projects.
When it comes to the retail merchandising, there are some projects that you may become invoved in where they establish teams of poeple. On these projects the hourly pay can be as high as $18-$24 per hour and in some cases even more. Some companies hire teams retail merchandisers that travel state to state, staying in hotel's and motel's!
